License Information
This page explains what you receive when you buy a Tabulizer license: the Tabulizer software itself, which is free software under the GNU General Public License, and the membership services and premium content that your license gives you access to, which are covered by separate terms.
Last updated: October 20261. Summary
A Tabulizer license is an annual membership. It is made of two different things, and different terms apply to each:
| What | Covered by | Website limit of your plan | After the membership ends |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tabulizer software (Joomla, WordPress and add-ons) | GNU GPL v2 or later | Does not apply to the software code | Keeps working; the GPL rights never expire |
| Software updates and official downloads | Membership | Applies | No new downloads or updates |
| Technical support | Membership and Support Policy | Applies | Ends |
| Online wizards and AI Assistant | Membership (service access) | Applies | Access ends; rulesets you already created keep working |
| Premium Rulesets (Professional and Agency) | Premium Content License (section 6) | Applies | Installed rulesets keep working on the websites they were installed on |
2. The Tabulizer software
The Tabulizer software is the program code distributed in the official Tabulizer packages:
- Tabulizer for Joomla (Joomla 3, 4, 5 and 6);
- Tabulizer for WordPress;
- the add-ons distributed as Tabulizer packages, such as Tabulizer for Page Builders and the Tabulizer File Uploader;
- the language packs for these packages.
Unless a file states otherwise, this code is copyright Alterora OÜ and is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or (at your option) any later version. This is the license stated in the packages themselves and is the license used by Joomla and WordPress.
Third-party libraries included in the packages keep their own licenses (section 10).
3. Your rights under the GPL
For the Tabulizer software code, the GPL gives everyone who receives it the following rights, subject to its conditions:
The GPL's conditions include keeping the copyright and license notices, making the source code available to whoever you give the software to, and licensing modified versions under the GPL as well.
The GPL covers the software code. It does not give access to our membership services or premium content, and it does not give the right to use the Tabulizer name or logo (section 11).
4. What your Tabulizer license includes
When you buy a Tabulizer license, you buy a membership for one year from the date of purchase. During that year, according to your plan, it gives you:
- access to the official Tabulizer downloads for Joomla and WordPress;
- software updates;
- technical support, as described in the Support Policy (priority support on the Professional and Agency plans);
- access to all online wizards and to the AI Assistant;
- on the Professional and Agency plans, access to the Premium Rulesets and the right to use them under the Premium Content License (section 6).
Paying for a license does not transfer ownership of any Tabulizer software, content, or other intellectual property. It gives you the services and content of your plan, and the rights described on this page.
5. Websites covered by your plan
Each plan covers a number of production websites. That number applies to the membership services and the premium content: the websites you may receive support for, keep up to date with your membership's downloads, build with the online wizards, and use Premium Rulesets on.
| Plan | Production websites | Premium Rulesets |
|---|---|---|
| Personal | 1 | Not included |
| Professional | Up to 5 | Included |
| Agency | Unlimited, including websites you build or maintain for clients | Included |
A production website is a website that is publicly accessible and used for its real purpose. Development, staging, and test copies of a covered website, which are not publicly used, do not count towards the limit.
The Personal and Professional plans cover websites that you own or operate yourself or for your own organisation. Websites built for or handed over to clients are covered by the Agency plan.
7. Online wizards and the AI Assistant
The online wizards and the AI Assistant are services that run on Tabulizer.com. Your membership gives you access to them; it does not give you a copy of their code, which is not distributed.
The rulesets you create with the online wizards, or that the AI Assistant prepares for you, are yours to use: you may use them on your websites, also after your membership ends. The wizard templates, designs, and styles they are built from remain the property of Alterora OÜ, so you may not redistribute wizard-made rulesets as a product, template pack, or ruleset collection.
Your own data, such as the table content and files you use in a wizard, remains yours.
How your messages to the AI Assistant are processed is described in the Privacy Policy, and its limits in the Support Policy.
8. If you do not renew
Your websites keep working when your membership ends:
- the Tabulizer software you installed keeps working, and your GPL rights to it never expire;
- Premium Rulesets installed on covered websites during your membership keep working there;
- rulesets you created with the online wizards keep working.
What ends is the membership: access to new downloads and updates, technical support, the online wizards, the AI Assistant, and downloading Premium Rulesets. You can renew at any time to get them back.
9. Free rulesets, examples, documentation, and website content
Free ruleset archives are distributed under the license stated on their download page or inside the archive.
The Tabulizer.com website, including its documentation, tutorials, knowledge base, screenshots, demos, sample data, images, and text, is owned by or licensed to Alterora OÜ and is not covered by the GPL. You may use the documentation and examples to learn and use Tabulizer, and copy code snippets from them into your own websites. You may not republish, redistribute, or sell substantial parts of the website content, or use them for competing documentation, courses, or services, without written permission.
10. Third-party libraries
The Tabulizer packages include third-party libraries, for example for reading spreadsheets, sorting and filtering tables, and drawing charts. Each of them remains under its own license, such as the GPL, LGPL, MIT, BSD, or Apache license, as stated in its files. Nothing on this page changes those licenses.
11. The Tabulizer name and branding
The GPL covers the software code, not the Tabulizer name, logo, or branding, which belong to Alterora OÜ. If you distribute a modified version of the software, do not call it Tabulizer or present it as an official Tabulizer product, and do not use the Tabulizer name or logo in a way that suggests a connection with us that does not exist.
12. Restrictions
These restrictions apply to the membership services and premium content. They do not limit your rights to the Tabulizer software under the GPL.
- A membership is for the person or organisation that bought it. Do not share your account or its downloads with others.
- Do not use the online wizards, the AI Assistant, or premium content beyond the websites your plan covers.
- Do not use the online wizards, the AI Assistant, or premium content to build a competing ruleset library, template collection, wizard, or service.
- Do not access the online services by automated means, or in a way that overloads or disrupts them.
- Do not remove or alter copyright, license, or attribution notices.
13. Ownership
Alterora OÜ owns the copyright in the Tabulizer software, the Premium Rulesets, the wizard templates, the website content, and the Tabulizer name and branding, except where rights belong to third parties. Rights are granted only as described on this page, in the GPL for the software code, and in any written agreement with us.
14. Changes to this page
We may update this page from time to time, for example when plans or products change. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. The license of a software package is always the one stated in that package. Changes to the membership terms apply from your next purchase or renewal.
