How to change pagination and filtering labels

One the most frequently asked questions is how one can change the label for the search filter. This can be done easily by editing the appropriate language file. More specifically:

  1. For Joomla users

    Edit the {joomla root directory}/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_tabulizer.ini file and at the end of it add the following assignment:

    JSEARCH_FILTER_LABEL="Search table"

    Of course, you can replace "Search table" with any other phrase you wish.

  2. For Wordpress users

    Edit the {wordpress root directory}/wp-content/plugins/tabulizer/admin/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_tabulizer.ini file and at the end of it add the following assignment:

    JSEARCH_FILTER_LABEL="Search table"

    Of course, you can replace "Search table" with any other phrase you wish.

Using same methodology you can change labels for the Tabulizer's table pagination controls. The values you need to assign at the end of the language file are:

JNEXT="Next"
JPREVIOUS="Previous"

You can also change the labels for the "first" and "last" buttons, but since these assignments already exists in the language file, you only need to modify the assigned values. Below is a list of language literals and their assigned values:

  • COM_TABULIZER_DATA_TABLE_IS_EMPTY="Table contains no data"
  • COM_TABULIZER_DATA_TABLE_PAGINATION_FIRST="First"
  • COM_TABULIZER_DATA_TABLE_PAGINATION_LAST="Last"
  • COM_TABULIZER_DATA_TABLE_PAGINATION_NEXT="Next"
  • COM_TABULIZER_DATA_TABLE_PAGINATION_PREVIOUS="Previous"
  • COM_TABULIZER_DATA_TABLE_IS_BUSY="Table under processing ... please wait"
  • COM_TABULIZER_DATA_TABLE_FILTER_LABEL="Search:"
  • COM_TABULIZER_DATA_TABLE_FILTERING_RETURNED_ZERO_RECORDS="No records were found"
  • COM_TABULIZER_DATA_TABLE_ENTRIES_INFO="Showing _START_ to _END_ of total _TOTAL_ entries"
  • COM_TABULIZER_DATA_TABLE_INFO_EMPTY="Showing 0 to 0 of 0 entries"
  • COM_TABULIZER_DATA_TABLE_INFO_FILTERED="(filtered from _MAX_ total entries)"
